General informationWarsaw University of Technology respects the right to privacy of people whose personal data we store, in particular using appropriate technological solutions and legislative measures that prevent unauthorized entities from intruding on their privacy.
Our activities related to storing and processing of all data aim to guarantee you a sense of complete security and lawful processing at a level appropriate to the data protection law applicable in Poland, including Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) - called GDPR.
Personal Data ControllerIn accordance with Article 13 of the a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council 2016/679 of April 27, 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data - General Data Protection Regulation (Journal of Laws UE L 119/1 of May 4, 2016 “RODO”) – the Warsaw University of Technology informs that:
- The data controller of your personal data is the Warsaw University of Technology, represented by the Rector, located at Plac Politechniki 1, 00-661 Warsaw.
- The data controller has appointed a Data Protection Officer that supervises the adequacy of the personal data processing. You can contact the DPO by sending an e-mail to: iod@pw.edu.pl
- The personal data included in the contact form will be used for communication purposes or for providing services on the WUT Main Library website, particularly for processing your enquiry.
- Your personal data will not be transmitted and made available to external parties, except:
- cases laid down by law;
- external parties which concluded contracts with the Warsaw University of Technology on processing the personal data.
- Your personal data will be kept for the duration of providing services and communication, not later than lodging an effective objection.
- Providing personal data is voluntary, however it is obligatory for the purpose they have been collected.
- You have the right of access, rectification and erasure of your personal data, limitation of the data processing, lodging an objection, withdrawal of the consent at any time.
- If you consider that processing of your personal data infringes the regulations of General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to submit a complaint to the President ofthe Office of Personal Data Protection.
- In connection with the organization of the XVI Conference on Research and Development in Power Engineering, we only process the personal data that we need to enable you to participate.
In any case, when we process your personal data, we must apply the so-called "Legal basis". The legal basis results directly from the law (GDPR):
- Performance of the contract: we must process your personal data in order to be able to provide you with one of our services
- Legal claims: when data processing is necessary to establish, enforce or defend our legal claims
- Legal obligation: when we are obliged under law to process your personal data
We store your data for purposes strictly set out in this privacy policy and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. We never store personal data longer than necessary. In most cases, the storage period ends after 5 years from the end of cooperation with us. However, in some cases, we are required to store personal data for up to 10 years from the end of the relationship due to the limitation periods for certain claims.
Is there an obligation to provide personal data?As a rule, providing your personal data is completely voluntary, however, it is necessary for registration and participation in the XVI Conference on Research and Development in Power Engineering. Providing data may also be necessary due to the applicable law.
You are entitled to ask for the execution of your privileges in a written or oral form. However, we advise you a written form of communication – for example, submitting an official written document or an e-mail message to ensure a trace of your correspondence. The correspondence gives us a clear evidence of your action and helps with answering according to your expectations as soon as possible.
The execution of your rights is free of charge and we will do our best to provide feedback within a month after making the request. In case of possible delays, you will be informed immediately.
